Base funding for Next Generation 911 funding programs has been expanded to include the purchase and installation of Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, or agents specifically for local fire dispatch. This applies to the 2023 and 2025 funding intakes.
Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Asset Management Planning program. Receive up to $25K towards asset management planning. The application deadline is May 23, 2025.
The intent of the Asset Management Planning program is to assist local governments in delivering sustainable services by extending and deepening asset management practices within their organizations, recognizing their size, complexity, current status and individual needs.

UBCM and the Province have reviewed the program design for the 2025 Next Generation 911 program and have agreed to amend some aspects of the program. The application deadline has been extended to April 11, 2025. Eligible applicants may submit applications at any time before this date.

In 2024, the UBCM membership endorsed a resolution (EB15: Implementing Accessibility BC Act Recommendations) requesting that the provincial government establish annual funding to assist local governments to implement accessibility requirements, which were established in 2021.
