Bylaw Adjudication Program survey

The Province is seeking input from local governments to better understand issues impacting the Bylaw Adjudication Program. Local governments are encouraged to complete the Province’s survey, which will remain open until September 25, 2024. The Bylaw Adjudication Program provides B.C. local governments with an alternative out-of-court approach to adjudicating bylaw infractions.

Information gathered through this research project will be used by the Province to better understand key issues and explore options for improvement and modernization. More than 125 B.C. local governments are currently enrolled in the Program.

Program users, including local governments and adjudicators, have previously raised a number of issues impacting Bylaw Adjudication Program operations. Many of these issues have been raised through the provincial-local government Bylaw Adjudication Program Working Group.

The results of the survey will be shared with respondents and through the Bylaw Adjudication Program Working Group. Any changes or future phases of this work will be announced at a later date.
