The Ministry of Housing’s Engagement and Encampment Response Branch (EERB) is seeking feedback on their Encampment Response Partner Resource Guide. Local governments and partners are invited to review the draft and share feedback with the Ministry by June 17.
The guide is intended to:
- Share evidence-based information about what encampments look like across the province, why people seek shelter in encampments and the supports they need;
- Provide information on provincial and regional resources available;
- Outline considerations for those responsible for administration of land; and
- Offer lessons learned and promising practice in encampment response.
EERB is asking partners in encampment response to review a draft of the resource guide and to share comments and recommendations. The Branch is also inviting contributions of case studies on how your community or organization has responded to encampments.
A copy of the draft resource guide was emailed to all local government CAOs by UBCM on May 27. If you would like to receive a copy of the Guide, please email provincial staff.
