UBCM is seeking staff representatives from small and mid-size communities for a liquor policy working group. The group is a venue for local governments to raise issues and concerns, provide feedback, and engage with the Province about the development of liquor policy.
The Local Government Working Group on Liquor Policy is a technical working group, established following the Province’s 2014 Liquor Policy Review, as part of a commitment to work with local governments on liquor policy issues. It meets three to four times per year via videoconference.
There are currently 24 staff members representing 14 local governments, however, representation is predominantly from large urban areas. There is a need for more staff members from small and mid-size communities, as well as all regions of the province.
For more information or to seek appointment to the Working Group, please contact Bhar Sihota, Senior Policy Analyst, UBCM.
