Restore Funding for Daycare Services the Child Care Resource Referral Program

WHEREAS the provincial government has chosen to reduce operating grants to daycare providers and to eliminate all Child Care Resource and Referral Programs in the province; AND WHEREAS the immediate impact of this decision will be increased fees, longer waiting lists and a loss of jobs in daycare centres province-wide, a loss of critical support services for children and families of limited income, parents unable to remain in the workforce and contribute to our economy, and an overall decrease in community health and well being: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the provincial government restore funding for daycare services and the Child Care Resource and Referral Program immediately.
