PRIME-BC User Fee Increase

WHEREAS in 2010 the Province of British Columbia proposes to increase the annual user fees for PRIME-BC from 500 to 1000 per member which represents an increase of 100; AND WHEREAS there is no elected local government official on the Board of Directors of PRIME-BC, even though local governments fund a significant portion of the operating costs for PRIME-BC: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities requests the Province maintain the costs of PRIME paid for by municipalities at the 2009 rate and that elected local government officials be appointed to the Board of Directors of PRIME-BC in proportion to the costs paid by the local government sector.
