WHEREAS all legislation pertaining to local government elections is contained within the Local Government Act; AND WHEREAS a separate act for all legislation pertaining to local government elections would be easier to manage for candidates and the public at large: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of British Columbia Municipalities request the Province of British Columbia to consolidate all legislation pertaining to local government elections into one act, to be known as the Local Government Elections Act.
