Disaster Financial Assistance

WHEREAS the Province of BC has developed a Disaster Financial Assistance DFA policy, which states that DFA is only available to principle residences within the province; AND WHEREAS resort communities are largely comprised of seasonal property owners who also pay property taxes: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that UBCM urge the provincial government to review its DFA policy with a view to allowing all property owners regardless of principle or secondary occupancy, to qualify for DFA.
