Community Works Fund

WHEREAS Canada, British Columbia and the local governments of British Columbia, as represented by the Union of BC Municipalities, have entered into an agreement under the New Deal for Cities and Communities on the transfer of federal government gas revenues to local governments with the establishment of the Community Works Fund based on per capita funding; AND WHEREAS Community Works Funding restricts communities from using their funds for development and maintenance of certain infrastructure: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Community Works Funding Agreement be amended to provide more flexibility to communities to use these funds for projects they deem a local priority.
