The Province has announced the extension of the BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) Regional Pilot until March 31, 2024. The EI Regional Pilot was introduced in March 2019 to support economic growth in smaller regional centres, and is an innovative collaboration between communities and the provincial government.
The EI Regional Pilot supports smaller communities to attract entrepreneurs with a desire to start businesses, create jobs and settle in regional centres and contribute to the local economy. Over the past two years, the pilot has demonstrated its ability to attract entrepreneurs from around the world and to contribute to regional economic development needs despite the impacts of COVID-19. In total, 65 communities enrolled in the initial pilot phase, and many will welcome new entrepreneurs in their communities once international travel restrictions are lifted.
General information can be found on the EI Regional Pilot page. For more information about the Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot, interested communities may email the PNP.
