Funding is available to help identify physical routes to safely and successfully evacuate communities in the event of emergencies. A new intake for the Evacuation Route Planning grant stream is now open with an application deadline of November 19, 2021. BC local governments and First Nations are eligible to apply for grants of up to $25,000.
The grant is not intended for planning actual evacuations or road design. Eligible activities include: identifying safe evacuation routes; mapping hazards to evacuations; and identifying local populations and available forms of transport. Details of eligible activities are outlined in the 2021 Program and Application Guide.
