Emergency preparedness funding deadlines


Publishing Date

The Province announced continued funding for the Community Emergency Preparedness Fund earlier this year. Funding permitting, new application deadlines have been scheduled for the remainder of 2023/24 and 2024/25. This fund is intended to support BC communities to better prepare for emergencies and climate change.

2023 Deadlines

  • June 2: Extreme Temperatures Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning
  • October 6: Disaster Risk Reduction-Climate Adaptation
  • October 20: Volunteer & Composite Fire Departments Equipment & Training
  • November 3: Indigenous Cultural Safety & Cultural Humility Training

2024 Deadlines

  • January 26: Emergency Support Services
  • February 23: Emergency Operations Centres & Training
  • March 28: Disaster Risk Reduction-Climate Adaptation
  • April 26: Public Notification & Evacuation Route Planning
  • October 4: Disaster Risk Reduction-Climate Adaptation
  • October 18: Volunteer & Composite Fire Departments Equipment & Training
  • November 1: Indigenous Cultural Safety & Cultural Humility Training

2025 Deadlines

  • January 31: Emergency Support Services
  • February 28: Emergency Operations Centres & Training
  • March 28: Disaster Risk Reduction-Climate Adaptation

The Community Emergency Preparedness Fund is a suite of funding programs intended to enhance the resilience of First Nations, local governments and communities to better prepare for emergencies and the changing climate.
