Former UBCM President Brian Frenkel awarded King Charles III Coronation Medal

Congratulations to Brian Frenkel who has been recognized by the Honourable Janet Austin, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia with a King Charles III Coronation Medal, awarded to those who have made significant contributions to Canada and their home province.

“Councillor Brian Frenkel’s 24 years of local government involvement and his dedication and passion for community has been at the forefront of his advocacy. Brian believes people are the creators of change and his passion to effect change is central to why he has represented Vanderhoof and local governments from around British Columbia at the regional, provincial and federal level,” the Governor General’s office wrote.

Brian was UBCM President from 2020 to 2021 and served on the board in other positions from 2014 to 2022. He remains involved in advocacy on behalf of local governments on various working groups and boards including serving as UBCM’s representative to the Minister’s Advisory Committee on the Forests and Range Practices Act, the Provincial Forestry Forum and the Municipal Pension Board of Trustees.  He has also served on the North Central Local Government Association, Municipal Insurance Association of British Columbia and the Managed Forest Council of British Columbia.
