The Active Transportation Planning program supports local governments to incorporate or enhance active transportation components of formal planning documents. Total funding has now increased to $30,000 per application. Funding permitting, applications will be accepted from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025.
Funding through this program supports local governments as they incorporate or enhance active transportation components of formal planning documents such as Official Community Plans, Sustainability Plans, Neighbourhood Plans, or Transportation Plans. Eligible activities include research, engagement and policy development.
Local governments with a population up to 25,000 that meet the grant criteria are eligible for up to $30,000 toward their active transportation planning costs.
