The current 10-year Canada Community-Building Fund Agreement will expire on March 30, 2024. As we prepare to negotiate a new long-term agreement with the federal and provincial governments, UBCM wants feedback from our members on the current program.
UBCM staff have created a survey to find out what local governments think about the Canada Community-Building Fund program—what works, and what could be improved.
Survey results will inform UBCM’s position as our staff renegotiate the next long-term agreement.
The survey will be available until June 1, 2023 and all results will be shared at a later date.
The Canada Community-Building Fund (formerly the Federal Gas Tax Fund) is an annual federal transfer targeted for local government infrastructure investments. In British Columbia, UBCM distributes the funds on behalf of the Government of Canada and the Province of BC through three distinct funding programs: the Community Works Fund, the Strategic Priorities Fund, and the Greater Vancouver Regional Fund.
