The province-wide 2023 Elected Official Seminar (EOS) series will begin next week in Richmond, February 8-10, followed by events in Nanaimo (February 15-17), Kelowna (March 1-3), Kimberley (March 8-10), and Prince George (March 15-17).
The EOS series is held every four years following the local government general election to deepen elected officials’ understanding of the local government system and best practices for civic leadership. The agenda includes presentations, keynotes, mentorship panels, and networking opportunities that build upon local and regional orientation sessions for councils and boards. Elected officials taking part in the event receive 15 credit hours towards their LGLA Leadership Certification.
City of Quesnel Councillor Laurey-Anne Roodenburg LGLA’s president will chair all the sessions. UBCM’s Executive Director, Gary MacIsaac will also open each seminar with a session that explores the transition from campaigning to governance.
Registration for all seminars will be open until the Monday preceding the event, through the CivicInfo portal. The cost is $450 + GST per delegate.
Please visit the LGLA website’s home page to see the registration portal for the session of your choice, and to download the program for each venue.
