Publishing Date

The recent retirements of Gary Paget and Beth Hancox at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MAH) have resulted in a couple of staffing changes at the Board of Examiners.

Nicola Marotz, Strategic Advisor in the Local Government Division of MAH, was appointed as the Board Chair effective June 17, 2019, and Nicole Gibbings, Project Coordinator in Operations and Client Relations, Local Government Division, assumed the Assistant Administrator duties.   Marie Crawford (UBCM's representative) and Ron Poole (LGMA's representative) continue as Board members, as does Leta Hodge as the Board Administrator.

Details on the Board's certification and scholarship programs can be found the provincial government's website.

The Board of Examiners is established by legislation and is comprised of representatives from the B.C. government, the Local Government Management Association (LGMA) and the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM). The Board offers certification programs and scholarships to improve and recognize the professional skills and education of local government staff and build their administrative capacity.
