Tax Credit Program

WHEREAS the province announced that 50 of all school property taxes will be rebated to light and heavy industry Class 4 and 5 annually, to lower their costs and help them grow; AND WHEREAS, business in Class 6 should also benefit from this program designed to assist business in paying their bills, reinvest and maintain jobs, especially in rural communities, without downloading any costs to municipalities: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities request the Province of British Columbia to extend the credit program for Class 4 and Class 5 properties to include Class 6 property.
