Search Rescue Assistance

WHEREAS the sustainability of Search and Rescue Societies throughout the province is uncertain due to a lack of insurance coverage for Society members, directors and executives and escalating insurance costs for Search and Rescue vehicles; AND WHEREAS financial responsibilities for both personal insurance protection and vehicle insurance should not be incurred by Search and Rescue Societies or their members: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that responsibility for personal insurance protection for certified Search and Rescue Society members, directors and executives and insurance for Search and Rescue vehicles be incurred through the Provincial Emergency Program.
