Provincial Bridge Financing of Childcare Resources

WHEREAS the federal funding provided under the bilateral agreements on Early Learning and Childcare was terminated and, as a result, provincial funding for Child Care Resource and Referral Centres has been drastically cut, along with grants to offset operating costs for licensed family and centre based programs: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that UBCM urge the provincial government to provide bridge financing for childcare programs as an interim measure until the federal government funding programs are reinstated to a level which supports affordable, quality accessible childcare for all Canadian families.
