Whereas climate change is resulting in ever more extreme conditions in British Columbias rivers, including low water levels that endanger fish and riparian species; And whereas camping in riverbeds has contributed to pollution of precious water resources, riverbeds, and sensitive riparian areas: Therefore be it resolved that the provincial Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations amend current legislation under Forest Recreation Regulation 162004 of the Forest and Range Practices Act, from allowing camping for 14 days to prohibiting camping within active riverbeds throughout British Columbia.
