WHEREAS the Local Government Act does not permit non-resident incorporated property owners to vote in local government elections; AND WHEREAS every tax paying entity should have the right to vote in the jurisdiction in which they own property: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the UBCM petition the provincial government to amend the Local Government Act to permit non-resident incorporated property owners the right to vote in local government elections.
