WHEREAS local governments in British Columbia are capable of dealing with all applications that are within the jurisdiction of the Board of Variance; AND WHEREAS the establishment and maintenance of a Board of Variance is an unnecessary administrative burden for many local governments: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Province be requested to amend the Local Government Act provisions regarding the Board of Variance as necessary to allow local governments to opt out of the requirement to establish a Board of Variance.
