Local Government Election Date Change

WHEREAS section 362 of the Local Government Act requires that local government elections take place on the third Saturday of November in election years; AND WHEREAS the climate in interior and northern communities during the third week of November can be a deterrent to electors casting their ballots at polling stations: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the UBCM recommend to the Province that local government elections take place on the third Saturday of October on election years.
