Local Government Election Date

WHEREAS local government elections are held on the third Saturday of November every three years; AND WHEREAS electors who leave the community in early Fall to avoid the cold and inclement winter weather conditions are disenfranchised by the current November election date: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the provincial government amend the Local Government Act to move the local government election date from the third Saturday in November to the third Saturday in October.
