BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of British Columbia Municipalities request that the Province of British Columbia provide funding for local air quality monitoring for local governments where desired.
Provincial Response
MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT The Ministry of Environment the Ministry will continue to support monitoring of local air quality through projects supported within its rolling five year planning process. The Ministry will not provide funding directly to local governments for air quality monitoring. Opportunities exist through the provinces air shed management planning process for local governments to undertake monitoring through multi-stakeholder partnerships.
