Length of Term for Civic Office

WHEREAS costs for elections are high for both individuals and local governments; AND WHEREAS most other provinces are adopting a four-year term of office for local government councils: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities request that the provincial government of British Columbia extend the term of civic office for local government councils and regional district boards to four years.
