Funding for Schools

WHEREAS the lack of adequate funding by the Province of British Columbia is having a negative effect on small and rural communities in British Columbia by shutting down local schools; AND WHEREAS schools are an economic and integral part of every small community in British Columbia, affecting not only the property and assessed values in each jurisdiction, but also the livelihood and existence of some communities: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that any information regarding changes in funding to local school districts shall be conveyed to the school districts no later than January 1 of each year to be in effect for the next budget year.
