Community Access Program Funding

WHEREAS since 1995, the federal Community Access Program has brought computer and internet technologies to Canadians across the country, providing rural residents with much needed opportunities to access government online services and other programs available through the use of the internet; AND WHEREAS federal funding for the Community Access Program ended on March 31, 2012; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the UBCM and FCM lobby the Government of Canada to reinstate funding for the Community Access Program to provide rural residents access to the internet.
