BC-Wide Energy Upgrade for Buildings

Whereas all levels of government and society must be mobilized and coordinated to address the challenge of climate change; And whereas Esquimalt is a leader among BC communities in the adoption of sustainable practices: Therefore be it resolved that Esquimalt requests UBCM to consider the following resolutions at the 2018 UBCM Convention: That UBCM ask the province to commit to achieving a general upgrade to the energy performance of BCs existing building stock to be compatible with BCs and local governments climate action commitments, including economic measures to encourage building owners to do building upgrades.
