Assistance for Impacted Western Pine Beetle Communities

WHEREAS the Western Pine Beetle is devastating Ponderosa Pine stands in Southern Interior Communities; AND WHEREAS there is a lack of assistance for communities affected by the Western Pine Beetle: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of British Columbia Municipalities petition the Province of British Columbia to allocate funding from the Community Development Trust to communities impacted by the Western Pine Beetle, in an effort to assist in dealing with damage caused by the Western Pine Beetle within local government lands and privately owned lands.
