Disability Alliance BC is arranging a series of workshops to support local governments in their understanding and implementation of the requirements under the Accessible BC Act. Hosted online, and grouped by region the scheduled workshops are as follows:
- June 16, 11am–1pm: South Island Group
- June 16, 2–4pm Coastal Group
- June 21, 10–12 Northern group
- June 26, 2–4pm - Kootenay Columbia Group
- June 27, 11:30am–1:30pm Thompson Okanagan group
- June 28, 10am–12pm Open for all

Introduced in 2021, the Accessible BC Act has three main requirements for local governments:
- complete an Accessibility Plan to support the removal of barriers to accessibility;
- set up and support an Accessibility Committee, with inclusion of persons with disability; and
- create a feedback mechanism for public as it relates to accessibility in the community.
