The virtual symposium is on Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm and this year’s theme is FireSmart BC: Our Shared Responsibility. We are committed to delivering a dynamic and engaging event that provides participants a wide variety of interesting FireSmart topics and guest speakers. Topics include:
- Climate Change and the wildland-urban interface
- Prescribed Fire
- Successful Rebate Programs
- Wildland–urban Interface (WUI) Risks
- FireSmart Community Success Stories
- Community Wildfire Resiliency Committees, and much more!
The symposium is open to all participants, but will be of special interest to local governments, First Nations, fire departments, Local FireSmart Representatives, FireSmart community champions, consultants working with communities on Community Resiliency Investment projects, BC Wildfire Service staff and any other interested parties. The cost to attend is $100 plus GST per participant and registration is now open.
