The federal government has extended the application deadline for the Universal Broadband Fund (UBF) to March 15, 2021. The extension provides applicants with additional time to complete UBF applications.
To support applicants, especially smaller local and Indigenous governments, a pathfinder service is available to answer questions about the UBF program. Pathfinders may be contacted via email, at get-connected@canada.ca.
Designed to connect Canadians in rural and remote communities to high-speed Internet at speeds of at least 50/10 Mbps, the UBF supports extension of broadband infrastructure in areas that do not currently have access to this level of high-speed Internet.
