The Province has issued a memorandum advising local governments that, effective October 3, 2022, the Ministry of Attorney General’s Tribunals, Transformation and Independent Offices Division (TTIOD) will assume all responsibilities for the Bylaw Adjudication Program. Previously, duties were shared with the Court Services Branch.
The TTIOD was designated the roster organization in February 2019, and will continue to serve this role moving forward. As part of this transition, the Court Services Branch will perform its regular duties (e.g. enrolling local governments, answering questions, investigating complaints) until October 3, at which time these obligations will transfer to the TTIOD.
Earlier this year, the remuneration rate was raised to $500 for a full day, and $250 for a half day. These new rates, as well as the current travel rules and rates, will not be changed as part of the transition.
