National Housing Strategy

Whereas safe, adequate and affordable housing is fundamental to the health and wellbeing of individuals and the social and economic wellbeing of communities; And whereas local governments lack the resources to be able to fundamentally address issues of affordable housing in their communities: Therefore be it resolved that UBCM bring a resolution to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities 2017 Annual General Meeting to strongly encourage the federal government to prioritize the development of a national housing strategy to address access to affordable housing across the housing continuum, in conjunction with provincial and local governments.
