WHEREAS the Water Branch and Environmental Appeal Board have acknowledged water shortages and over licensing in Okanagan watersheds yet continue to double license fully licensed water which is causing adverse effects on municipalities and the environment; AND WHEREAS there is inconsistency and a lack of transparency in the statutory decision making in the Water Branch and Environmental Appeal Board: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Environmental Appeal Board be eliminated and that a judicial review process be conducted by the courts in its place with the cost savings applied to enforcement of the new Water Sustainability Act.
