Review of Planning Development Legislation

WHEREAS the legislation concerning local government management of subdivision and development in British Columbia has not been comprehensively reviewed in many years; AND WHEREAS the current legislation could be improved to better serve the needs of local government, the development community, and the public by providing more responsive provisions for development management, permitting and approvals: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Government of British Columbia be requested to initiate a thorough review of Part 26 of the Local Government Act and related legislation and to consult with UBCM regarding appropriate changes.
