Assessment of Wine Cider Producers

WHEREAS BC Assessment classifies land and improvements on which wine and cider producers process their own farm products as Class 5 - Light Industry; AND WHEREAS this is a barrier to entry and expansion of these businesses: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that UBCM petition the Province of British Columbia to amend the Assessment Act to classify land and improvements as Class 9 - Farm where at least 50 of the wine and cider produced comes from farm products grown on site.
