Legislated Mandatory Recycling at Landfills Transfer Stations

WHEREAS there are no current regulated province wide standards stipulating that both private and local government landfills and transfer stations are required to facilitate composting and recycling options on site; AND WHEREAS it is difficult to manage different waste management programs within a region or province: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that UBCM petition the provincial government of BC to legislate that all landfill and transfer station sites be required to facilitate uniform composting and recycling options to the highest possible standard.
