WHEREAS the provincial government has reduced funding for arts and culture organizations throughout the province; AND WHEREAS these arts and culture organizations are an integral part of the economic and social fabric of local communities: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities encourages the provincial government to restore funding to arts and culture organizations, from all provincial sources, to 2008 levels.
