Proposed Harmonized Sales Tax for British Columbia

WHEREAS the Province of British Columbia is proposing to harmonize the Provincial Sales Tax PST with the Goods and Service Tax GST; AND WHEREAS municipalities currently recover 100 of the GST: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Province of British Columbia consult with the Union of British Columbia Municipalities on the Harmonized Sales Tax HST legislation and at minimum ensure that the proposed HST legislation allows municipalities to recover 100 of the HST that they pay.
