Proposal to Exempt Heritage Property from the Provisions of the Homeowner Protection Act

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that a proposal to exempt heritage property from the provisions of the Homeowner Protection Act be moved forward as follows: - a request be made to the Province of British Columbia to consider an exemption for buildings recognized or protected for their heritage value from the requirements of the Homeowner Protection act; and - heritage buildings be defined as: Buildings recognized or protected for their heritage value, by the provincial, federal, or local governments, or subject to a covenant or agreement to conserve heritage value.
