WHEREAS modern winter tires have been proven to provide superior traction and improved safety; AND WHEREAS all passenger vehicles in British Columbia are not required to be equipped with tires specifically designed for winter driving conditions: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that UBCM request the Province of British Columbia to require all passenger vehicles in the province to be equipped with tires specifically designed for winter driving, and that these tires be installed on the vehicles between October 1st and April 30th.
