WHEREAS it is felt that the most recent census data as it pertains to the north central region of British Columbia does not accurately reflect the actual population; AND WHEREAS many financial matters, such as transfer payments and allocations as they relate to all forms of local government are based on the census population figures: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that UBCM and the provincial government lobby the federal government to develop a method of ascertaining the correct census population figures by correlating and integrating the population based on information from income tax returns.
