WHEREAS municipalities incur substantial costs in a wide range of areas as a result of liquor consumption; AND WHEREAS it is desired to have the users of liquor pay for the costs incurred as a result of liquor sales: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the provincial government pass enabling legislation allowing municipalities to levy a 2 sales tax on the sale of liquor within the municipality.
