WHEREAS as of the September 30, 2007 deadline for the new Meat Inspection Regulation, there will be insufficient operating abattoirs to enable the licensed slaughter of livestock currently in small-scale, local production: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the provincial government commit sufficient resources and time to communities throughout the province to ensure this urgent need for slaughtering facilities is met.
