Policing Costs

WHEREAS local governments and their citizens struggle daily with the social and economic blight caused by the ever-increasing infestation of crime in our communities; AND WHEREAS local governments are being financially crippled by the concurrent rise in policing costs to fight this increasing infestation of crime: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities, as its highest priority, demand that the federal and provincial governments provide funds to contribute 30 of the costs of policing.
