WHEREAS local governments commonly conduct remuneration studies for elected officials and employees through professional consultants; AND WHEREAS the cost of professional remuneration studies may be cost prohibitive for smaller local governments; AND WHEREAS having a baseline remuneration comparison may assist local governments in their decisions to pursue remuneration review: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities investigate the feasibility of coordinating a service to provide cost effective, professional remuneration studies, available to all local governments.
