Access to Radiation Treatment

WHEREAS distance to a radiation treatment centre represents equitable access for cancer patients throughout the Province of British Columbia; AND WHEREAS the primary criteria currently being used by BC Cancer Agency to configure the placement of radiation treatment centres in the Province of BC is population: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities, on behalf of all communities in the Province of BC, request that the Province require that the BC Cancer Agency utilize distance as the primary factor in determining equitable access to radiation treatment.
